New Executive Director Therese Everly Chosen

The Lee County Homeless Coalition executive director Janet Bartos will retire at the end of August 2021. Therese Everly has been hired as the new executive director and will begin serving August 1, 2021.

Therese Everly has been a resident of Lee County since 1975 and is passionate about Lee County. Therese has worked in various aspects of non-profit and health care organizations for over 30 years as a clinician, educator, medical sales, care management, health care policy and volunteer. She is a Registered Respiratory therapist, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration from Hodges University. Therese is also an active Florida licensed realtor for over 30 years currently working at Rossman Realty with experience is sales and property management.

Therese is an active member of the community serving on the Lee Health Board of Directors, were she currently serves as Vice Chair, and Chairs the Board Quality, Safety & Patient Experience committee and a member of the Community Health Improvement committee. She also serves as a board member of the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association which serves 16 Florida counties. Additionally, serving on the 20th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office Elder Abuse Fatality Review Team, Florida Department of Elder Affairs- Lee County chapter Dementia Care and Curative Initiative, Lee County Anti-Drug Coalition Advisory Council and United Way “Mission United” stakeholders’ group which supports our local Veterans.

Therese is married to Todd for 32 years and they have one daughter Caira. On her downtime she enjoys the beauty of Southwest Florida, boating, fishing, travel and supporting several local nonprofit organizations that contribute to making Southwest Florida a great place to live.
