The 4th Annual Dinner and Silent Auction will take place at Saint Columbkille Catholic Parish on Saturday, November 1, 2008 from 6pm to 10pm. Individual tickets can be purchased for $35 and Corporate Sponsorships are also available. All proceeds will benefit the Lee County Homeless Coalition. Homeless Awareness week is November 16 through November 22, 2008. The Annual Homeless Service Day and StandDown will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008. Events are in the planning stage and this page will be updated as preparations are finalized.
The Candlelight Vigil will be held on the steps of the Lee County Courthouse located at 2120 Main Street on Sunday, December 21, 2008. The Candlelight Vigil provides an opportunity to memorialize homeless persons that have died throughout the year while living in Lee County.
Recent Events
Doors Without Homes. The Lee County Homeless Coalition provided artists with unfinished doors on which to create original artwork portraying the artist’s vision of Opening Doors for the Homeless. The doors were exhibited as a public art display at ArtFest Fort Myers, on February 2nd & 3rd, 2008. The doors were sold by silent auction during ArtFest with all proceeds benefiting the Lee County Homeless Coalition. Over $4,300 was raised for the Coalition and volunteers were able to speak with the public to enhance community awareness.
This project was made possible through the sponsorship of Bonita Bay and ICANstruction Junction. The Coalition would like to thank the artists for their time and efforts in supporting our goal to end homelessness in Lee County.

2007 Events
Candlelight Vigil. The Vigil was held on the steps in front of the Lee County Courthouse located at 2120 Main Street on Thursday, December 20, 2007. The Candlelight Vigil provided an opportunity to memorialize the 19 homeless persons that died throughout 2007 while living in Lee County.
Stand Down 2007. The Homeless Stand Down and Service Day was held at Broadway Community Church in Fort Myers, FL on Nobember 17, 2007. Over 200 individuals registered for this event. Local providers assisted with services such as food, clothing, mental health referrals, substance abuse referrals, immunizations and health screenings, employment, housing services, Veterans counseling, Social Security, spiritual counseling, haircuts and transportation. Participants received resource books, hygiene kits, bus passes, back packs, tarps and blankets. Hot meals were also provided.
