About Us
The Lee County Homeless Coalition was reorganized, in January 2005, under the umbrella of the Lee County Department of Human Services. The Coalition consists of community-based and faith-based service providers, local businesses, people who are currently experiencing or who have experienced homelessness, and other advocates committed to supporting the mission of the Coalition. The mission of the Coalition is to provide "a forum through which those who provide services to our Lee County Residents, who find themselves in a situation of homelessness, can continue collaborating and sharing information…working together in an attempt to eradicate chronic homelessness, while standing ready to aid and educate those at serious risk of becoming homeless.
No one is immune to homelessness. Anyone can find themselves in this most unpleasant unplanned situation at any moment due to a variety of circumstances beyond our immediate control. Planning to assist with speedy recovery in a way that allows those in crisis to retain dignity and self-worth is crucial. That's why Coalitions for the Homeless are so important.
If you are in an "at risk" situation, meaning that you are in housing that is no longer affordable to you and your family (mounting bills, loss of income, illness, etc..) please seek preventive assistance immediately by clicking AT RISK.
